As you may be aware, earlier this year our AGM was cancelled. Normally, we convene during the Conference of Irish Geographers, however this year due to the global pandemic the conference was cancelled and so was our meeting. However, as life is now settling into a new rhythm, we are committed to holding a general meeting in advance of CIG2021.
For this reason, we’d like to invite all members to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Postgraduate and Early Career Network of The Geographical Society of Ireland. It will take place Monday, September 7 as an online event, connection details of which will be posted closer to the date. A draft agenda will be circulated a little later this summer. For now, we would like to ask if you could register your interest in attending the EGM in September by completing this very short form.
A key item on the agenda is the election of a new committee. As we are always excited to hear new voices we’d like to ask if there are postgraduate and early career researchers in our membership that are interested in taking a formal role in our organisation. Over the next few days, the positions up for election will be posted on our website, and further details will be circulated via email. And we’d love to receive nominations for each of the positions up for election during our EGM at: pecn@geographysocietyireland.ie
